Scrivito JS 1.17.0 Released – Featuring Improved Speed

Improvements

  • Faster rendering

Visitors of your Scrivito-based website will now experience faster page loads, which can be mission-critical on slow devices. We analyzed and optimized a rendering performance hotspot. For example, navigating from “Pages and Widgets” to “Pricing” in the Example App is now 69 % faster.

  • Faster website loading

The size of the initial payload is crucial for the perceived performance of a website. As we continue to add features to the Scrivito SDK, the size of the Scrivito JavaScript bundle has grown over time. With this release, we moved non-essential parts out of the core package. The gzipped size of the Scrivito package is now more than 5 % smaller, resulting in a shorter Time to Interactive (TTI) and better Lighthouse scores.

  • To-the-point editing

We ironed out some small nuisances for editors. For example, the in-place editing cursor is now always visible in all browsers, and in-page search via Ctrl-F yields more useful results.

Bugfixes

  • Scrivito.ContentTag no longer intercepts onClick events

The Scrivito.ContentTag React helper component does not stop click-event propagation on HTML <a> tags anymore. A bubbling event goes from the target content tag’s element straight up without any restrictions.
